THINGS YOU'D WANT TO KNOW about TCW

There was an officially released statement and letter explaining for Lucasfilms for their decision to “move in another direction.”

The official quote being: “As we enter into an exciting new era focused on the next Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm has decided to pursue a new direction in animated programming.”

However, keep in mind this is a statement speaking for Lucasfilms and we do not hear from Lucasfilms themselves.

Yes. There were going to be a little over 2 more seasons they had planned which would detail on Ahsoka’s leaving on the Jedi Order and other arcs involving Darth Maul.

They had just recently released information about the Siege of Mandalore during the SW Celebration 2016.

Though keep in mind this is only a glimpse into the finale they had planned. When looking in their released concept art, you can also find they had planned for other episodes and characters to make an appearance later in the seasons.

These are the episodes that were in development before Lucasfilms was cut short at the announcement of the series’ cancellation. The only thing left was to refine and work on their animations, the episodes are otherwise still easy to comprehend and follow and all are fully voice acted.

The arcs we have access to are:

  • Bad Batch

  • Crystal Crisis on Utapau

No. It’s a common misconception, but Cartoon Network’s contract was closed when Disney purchased Lucasfilms and with it, any affiliation they had with TCW series.

Cartoon Network had worked as a distributor for the episodes and had, in no way, owned The Clone Wars series.

Currently, The Clone Wars series is in the hands of Disney. If it truly were owned by Cartoon Network, SW Rebels wouldn’t have been able to mention characters that were conceived during the run of TCW like Ahsoka Tano and Rex.

Not technically true. Our support for The Clone Wars series is to mainly seek a valid official statement on whether they will ever allow for the series to return.

We would not want this to conflict with the ongoing series SW Rebels.

We feel that SW Rebels is a great show with great potential. The situation would either be:

  • SW Rebels comes to a natural close, series officially ends. The Clone Wars seamlessly begins to run again and they release their new episodes.

  • SW Rebels keeps running. During their development for new seasons and episodes, The Clone Wars series can keep running simultaneously. New episodes can be released as originally planned.

There is also the option of The Clone Wars being able to run on Netflix as well. Either way, as long as the series is confirmed to be able to continue, we will be happy. We don’t want to kill a growing series in the process.

Production times would often vary and at other times, they would have episodes which were received very well that they wanted to embellish or extrapolate more on in regards to background.

It’s always difficult to determine which episodes are considered most important within a season when you have a limited amount of a time to accumulate for each. Likely, they would scrap old concepts but then want to return again when they realized they had the time and expenses.

There isn’t an official released statement in explanation, but this is what we’ve been able to gather from observation.

All episodes, including The Lost Mission episodes, are available online on Netflix.

is it true they had more episodes planned?

What are "the unfinsihed episodes"?

Isn't the Clone wars owned by cartoon network?

Wouldn’t renewing TCW mean SW Rebels would be cancelled?

Why aren't the episodes in order?

What is the chronological order for TCW?

Where can i watch TCW?

Why was the show cancelled?
